Residential Acoustics

iAcoustics have ample experience in the residential sector, having been involved in large scale projects from the tender stage, through to the design stage and on to inspection and testing.

Our involvement in projects from start-to-finish grants us a unique credibility in Part-E compliance, such that our ability to function as part of a wider design team is often highly commended as a result of our simplified approach to acoustic design.

Nonetheless, every residential project is different. Some include unique client specifications that are surplus to the requirements of Part-E of the Building Regulations. Our critical understanding of building materials, sound flanking paths & junction detailing gives us the confidence in finding an integrated acoustic solution to any problem.

Concept and Design

Good acoustic design is always achieved at the infancy of an architectural project. iAcoustics can help you achieve excellent acoustic results at the concept and initial design phase.

Ancillary Certification (BCAR)

iAcoustics are assigned BCAR certifiers providing Design (Sd), Inspection (Si) and completion (Sc) certificates.

Sound Insulation Performance

Regulation E1 of the B.Regs 2014 states that walls and floors separating dwellings must achieve a minimum airbre sound insulation performance of DnT,w 53dB. Impact sound  performance for floors separating dwellings must not exceed LnT,w 58dB. We provide accurate predictions of acoustic performance and can advise on buildups to meet the performance requirements.

Site Inspection

We conduct site inspections for residential developments to ensure that construction works are progressing as per the design intent. Attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship are the two things that we look out for, both are required in order to fully realise the acoustic potential of building. We provide inspection reports and on-site advise where necessary.

Acoustic Testing

iAcoustics are some of the most experienced sound insulation testers in Ireland. We have worked on many high profile developments over the years, and pride ourselves on our strong relationships with  clients. Expect an efficient service from our qualified acoustic consultants, using the most up to date equipment.
