Noise and Planning

Planning applications can often involve a requirement for a noise impact assessment. This may be to investigate how a new industrial facility will affect the surrounding area with noise pollution. It can also be required to ensure that a new school has been designed to sufficiently mitigate sound from nearby sources such as factories or motorways.

iAcoustics has ample experience in preparing noise impact statements for large and small projects, responding to RFI’s regarding noise, and acting as an expert witness at oral hearings.

All reports and assessments can be done in compliance with BS4142 Methods for rating and assessing industrial and commercial sound (2014), EPA Guidance Note for Noise (NG4, 2016) and NRA Good practice for the Treatment of Noise during the Planning of National Road Schemes (2014).
