noise Impact ASsessment
Planning a new development?
Are you seeking planning retention?
iAcoustics measure current sound levels and use specific calculations to determine how a new development will impact environmentally.
We also offer help in designing integrated acoustic solutions to potential problems that have not arisen yet.
- Measurement of employee noise exposure levels
- Consultancy on individual noise exposure
- Assessment of risks
- Design and layout of employee workstations to reduce noise exposure
- Noise reduction techniques, barriers and screening
- Training on personal hearing protection
- Compliance with the Noise at Work Regulations

Environmental Noise Regulations:
Developments are often subject to stringent planning conditions, particularly in relation to noise. Under the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992, local authorities may set particular noise-related requirements, usually with reference to international guidelines, standards or codes of practice. Such planning requirements can apply to the construction process, or to the finished development itself.
Through various consultancy services, iAcoustics can ensure strict adherence to such planning requirements. We can advise on best practical means so that noise does not become a nuisance i.e. “…so loud, so continuous, so repeated, of such duration or pitch or occurring at such times as to give reasonable cause for annoyance …” (EPA, 1992). We can ensure a project conforms to the relevant standards and guidelines, and provide evidence of such conformity.
