Project

EPIC Irish Emigration Museum, Dublin

iAcoustics engaged with EventComm to assist in the acoustics design of the internal exhibition space, which involved a detailed room acoustic analysis. EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum has been named Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards for 2019, beating the Colosseum and The Eiffel Tower for the top prize.

Challenges faced: The exhibition/basement area had a significant reverberation issue (upwards of 3 seconds tmf). iAcoustics undertook subjective and objective field surveys by sampling various absorbent materials in different areas of the basement caverns. Not only did our proposed solutions significantly reduce reverberation time, but the acoustic ‘spill’ between the various exhibition pieces was also significantly reduced.
