Project
Marriot Hotel, Port Au Prince, Haiti
The Marriott Hotel in Port au Prince was built to replace the lost bedrooms after the 2010 Earthquake. The intention was that a new North American branded hotel would give the international business markets confidence to come and work in Haiti.
Dublin-based NODA Architects engaged iAcoustics to provide a complete acoustic design strategy to meet the Marriott Hotels & Resorts Hotel Design Standards.
We provided guidance on sound insulation performance, M&E noise control and reverberation control. More onerous acoustic detailing was required for separating partition between noise-generating spaces (i.e. the ballroom) and noise-sensitive areas (offices and bedrooms).
Fact File:
Completed: 2014
Project Value: $45m USD
Client: NODA
